Here are a few tips to keep your experience with a windows PC a pleasant one. 1.) Install a firewall to prevent worms and other malicious activity off your computer. We currently suggest PC Tools as a free option though many new systems come with trial or limited versions of commercial programs. If those are your preference, remember keep them up to date! 2.) Keep your virus software up to date, turned on and scan routinely. We also recommend the free AVG from Grisoft available here. 3.) It's still a hazardous place so check your system for spyware regularly. You can get the free Ad-Aware here. 4.) Only install software from sources you know and trust! 5.) Do not click on links in emails. 6.) Do not open attachments in emails (even if they came from somebody you know - unless you are expecting the file and know the sender did not have a virus on their PC)!
