The Beginning of the MAG 7

 

The MAG 7 became a reality during the club's first breakfast at a local restaurant here in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho on March 15 1996.

HAMS with interest in Morse Code CW communication were present. First attending were Jack Baker - NA7X, Joe Dubner - K7JD, George Hunsinger - KB7WTC, Phil Corlis - KI7ZY, Jim Ehrhardt - (AB7LD) now K7HU, Harvey Zion - (KI7EG) now K7VZ. Rich Shaver - (KB0IS) now W0FR of Missouri were included, and gave us the name of Magnificent Seven.


Since then we have been joined by Dick Ehrhardt - WA4NBY in Florida, Jerry Hart (AB7BZ) now W7KR, George Signer - W7ARG, Bob Hallock - K7TM.

Jack Baker became a silent key April 25 1996.
Rich Shaver moved to Florida.
